Nano Extensions
Nano extensions are attached strand by strand to natural hair. There is no glue, heat or chemicals required and the strands are simply bonded together using a small metal ring.
Nano ring and nano tip hair extensions are popular because they are so tiny that they are invisible and work great on thinner hair.
As they are so small, they allow individuals to style their hair as they want and do not have to worry about the extensions being exposed.
They are also a good option for those who want a completely natural and lightweight finish.
Application
To fit nano ring hair extensions, individual strands must be applied to small sections of hair and then held in place using a metal nano ring.
Nano rings are great for thinner or lighter coloured hair as they are really small (smaller than a micro ring) and made from copper. Nano ring hair extensions also come in a range of colours and are extremely secure.
The hair extension strands attached to the nano rings are called nano tip hair that features a keratin tip. This tip is what secures a metal loop that is then squeezed close and placed into the ring, before being clamped shut.
On average nano rings extensions last an average of 3-4 months if maintained regularly. The longevity factor is strong in this one.
Nano ring hair extensions are one of the least damaging hair extensions on the market as they do not require chemicals, heat or glue to apply and are lightweight and gentler on natural hair.
Nano ring extensions are perfect for thin hair. When using micro ring extensions, these can often become visible on fine hair but nano rings are 90% smaller in size and practically invisible when applied to natural hair.
If you want to dye your hair, you should take extra care not to get hair dye on the keratin attachments as this can cause rings to slip and bonds to break down.
We advise that you seek a professional to dye your hair so as not to cause damage to the extensions or your own natural hair.
After the initial application of the hair extensions, you should not wash your hair for 2-3 days to allow the bond to set. When it comes to washing your hair extensions, you should wash your hair 2-3 times a week and before washing, you should detangle the hair.
When conditioning, do not apply conditioner to the bonds but condition from mid-length to the ends of the extensions and wash in the shower rather than the bath. When you have rinsed out the extensions, you should pat the hair gently to remove excess water.
Avoid shampoos that contain sulfates and any hair products containing alcohol.
Nano hair extensions can last on average between 3-4 months if regularly maintained and there is a good aftercare plan in place.
As a general rule of thumb, on average 4 packs of extensions are needed for a half head and 8 packs for a full head, but this figure can vary depending on the type of hair.
Tips for looking after nano hair extensions:
Prevent your extensions from getting tangled by regularly brushing them. Take care to hold the extensions at the root when you’re brushing. Wash your hair using shampoos and conditioners that are free from any parabens or sulfates. It is best to use products from a moisture or colour range. When applying conditioner, avoid touching the root area and just condition from mid-length to ends of the extensions. Do not use volume, repair or protein products on the extensions. Use a heat protector when styling. Keep hair clean and do not allow it to get oily. Do not leave nano hair extensions to dry naturally. Blow dry hair (but on a low heat and not upside down). Avoid chlorine as this can discolour the extensions. Wash hair in the shower and not the bath.
